Seasoned Bean Sprout

Today's recipe is another simple dish.

Japanese & Korean loves to have bean sprouts as side dishes whether as condiments for a hot bowl of ramen or to eat with kimchi or BBQ meats.

And it can be served chill and still taste as good.

Ingredients :

(Serves as side dishes for 2)

350g fresh bean sprout

5 cups of water to boil

Seasoning :

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes

1/2 teaspoon of sugar

pinch of salt

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon of roasted sesame seed

Step by step:

1. Wash the bean sprouts in cold water & remove bad beans if any. Remove the end roots as well.

2. Boil water in a pot. Once water start to boil, put in bean sprouts and cook for 1-2 mins.

3. Drain the water and run cold water on the bean sprouts to cool it down for 1/2 mins.

4. Put the bean sprouts into a mixing bowl and add the seasoning sauce. Mix throughly.

5. Put in refrigerator & let it chill for 1 hour at least. The bean sprouts will absorb all the seasoning sauce & it will taste more flavour.

6. Serve chilled.

(Seasoned bean sprouts can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 days)
