Muah Chee - Cooked glutinous rice cake coated with grounded peanuts & sugar. Usually the glutinous rice dough were just plain and in white color. This time, for a change, I made pandan flavor dough. And added black sesame powder for extra aroma too.
To do this, you really need a good non-stick pan. Oherwise the glutinous rice will stick to your pan and it gets messy.
No more costly muah chee's from the neigbourhood night market street stall aka. Pasar Malam!
Ingredients A (serves 2)
130g Glutinous rice flour
200ml Water
4 pcs Pandan leaves
3/4 tsp Shallots oil
1 tsp Sugar
pinch of Salt
Ingredients B
40g Groundnuts (fried, skin removed, grounded)
4 tablespoon sugar (may adjust to your personal preference)
3 tbsp Black sesame seeds powder
Step by Step :
1. Blend pandan leaves with 200ml water. Strain away the residue to get pandan juice.
2. In a bowl, mix glutinous rice flour, sugar and salt together. Add in pandan juice and stir well.
3. Pour into pan and put over low heat.
4. Cover the pan with lid & cook for 5 minutes.
5. Open pan, fold the sides towards center and slowly roll into a dough.
6. Flip the dough every now & then for another 10 minutes. Done.
7. Remove from pan & let it cool down for 3 minutes.
8. Mix ingredients B in a plate, use a scissor to cut & roll dough in peanut mix. Ready to serve.
Happy Cooking.
