Ingredients: 1 large egg 60 g caster sugar 1/4 tsp vanilla extract 80 ml fresh milk 1.5 tbsp corn oil 100 g cake flour or plain flour - sifted 10 g corn flour - sifted 1/2 tbsp baking powder - sifted
1.5tbsp Cocoa Powder - sifted
Step by Step : 1. Whisk egg and sugar together till sugar dissolved. Add milk and corn oil, stir well again.
2. Sift in flour, corn flour and baking powder. Whisk till mixture well combined.
3. Spoon out about 1.5 tablespoon batter into another small bowl and mix with 1 tsp sifted cocoa powder. Mix well and pour cocoa batter into a small piping bag. 4. Pour plain batter into mini cupcake liners. Pipe cocoa batter to draw any pattern of your choice on the batter.
5. Heat up bamboo steamer with boiling water. Place cakes inside the steamer. Steam at medium heat for about 10 minutes and serve.
Tips :
If making bigger size cake, it will need longer steaming time - around 15mins.
If using normal steamer or wok, wrap the cover with muslin cloth preventing the water drips onto the cake making it soggy & wrinkly surface.
Happy Cooking.
