Steamed Japanese Egg Tofu with Minced Pork

Sharing another simple and delicious dish. The tofu remains soft & silky smooth after steaming. And minced meat & pork adds flavor to the sauce. Kids will love this too.

Ingredients : ( served 2-3)

1 tube Japanese Egg Tofu (130g)

4 pcs medium Prawns - deshelled & devein

70g Minced Pork

Marinade:

1/8 tsp Salt

1/8 tsp Sugar

1/8 tsp tsp Light Soy Sauce

1/8 tsp Sesame Oil

1/2 tsp Corn Starch

Dash of White Pepper

Sauce Mixture:

1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce

3 tbsp Water

1/8 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Cooking Oil

Garnishing:

Dried Wolfberries - rinsed

Step by Step:

1. Diced prawns into small cubes.

2. Mix prawns with minced pork. Add marinade seasoning & stir to mix till combine. Stir for about 2 mins until minced meat turns slight sticky. Set aside in the fridge for about 1/2 hrs & let it marinate.

3. Carefully slice japanese egg tofu into 9 or 10 slices. Arrange on plate.

4. Dab some corn flour on the surface of each slice of egg tofu. This is to stick the meat paste properly.

5. Scoop a teaspoonful of meat paste and place it on the tofu.

6. Repeat above step till all meat paste is being used up.

7. Garnish with wolfberries by sticking them on the meat paste.

8. Put to steam on rapid boiling water for about 8 mins.

9. Meanwhile cook sauce in a small pan. Combine everything & bring to a boil. Turn off heat.

10. When tofu is done steaming, drizzle soy sauce mixture onto tofu before serving. (Do not pour away the sauce from the tofu & meat after steaming) It adds more flavor to the overall sauce later.

11. Serve hot.

Happy Cooking..
