Korean Crunchy Fried Chicken Wings


Mentioned Korean, these few things always relate to it, K-pops, K-drama, and of course Korean Fried Chicken. Korean fried chicken is always so crunchy & coated with some kind of special sauce to give the fried chicken, a finger licking good taste.

Here's a really crunchy Korean fried chicken wings recipe. We actually just need corn starch to make a super crunchy fried chicken.

Ingredients : (serves 3-4)

8 pcs chicken wings

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp minced ginger

3/4 cup starch (corn starch)

Cooking oil for frying

4 cloves garlic, finely minced

Handful of chopped fried peanuts (optional)

Seasoning sauce : (mix together)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tbsp vinegar

1 tbsp mustard sauce

1 tbsp brown sugar

Step by Step :

1. Wash chicken wings & marinate with salt, black pepper & minced ginger. Marinate for 3 hrs.

2. Dip chicken in corn starch. Coat it evenly. You may coat another layer of corn starch for extra crunchiness.

3. Heat up oil for frying. Put in chicken wings for frying until crispy & turn golden brown. Remove

4. 2nd round, double frying. Still keeping the oil hot, put in chicken wings again to double fry for extra crunchiness. Fry for about another 2 minutes.

5. Now, to make the seasoning sauce. Add a little bit oil, fry minced garlic till fragrant & golden brown.

6. Add in seasoning sauce & cook till sauce become thick sauce. Add in fried chicken wings & stir well, till all the sauce coat the chicken wings evenly. Add in chopped peanuts & ready to be serve.

Tips : If you prefer to add some spicyness to the sauce, you can add some dried chilli (seed remove). Fry it together with garlic. Then you will have a spicy kick flavour in your chicken wings.
