Simple classic dish that you only need a few ingredients to cook this. The sauce is so flavorful and yummy to go with steamed rice. Love this so much, one of my favorite.
Ginger and sesame oil combination helps to expel wind and keep the body warm.
Commonly and traditionally used to replace cooking oil during confinement. Sesame oil is rich in calcium and it is beneficial to breastfeeding mums.
You can use chicken wings or chopped chicken pieces.
Ingredients : (serves 2)
4 pcs Chicken Wings (remove wing tips, separate mid wing & drummets)
10g Ginger (julienned)
4 tsp Sesame Oil
1 tsp Light Soy Sauce
60ml Water
Marinade: (A)
1 tsp Light Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Oyster Sauce
1 tsp Dark Soy Sauce
Step by Step:
1. Rinse and clean chicken wings.
2. Marinate with (A) above for 1 hour. (keep in fridge)
3. Heat up wok with sesame oil. Saute ginger till fragrant for about 3-4 mins.
4. Add marinated chicken wings only (set aside the marinade sauce) and lightly pan fry on both sides till slightly golden.
5. Add leftover marinade sauce, water & 1 tsp light soy sauce. Simmer on medium low heat for 8-10 mins until chicken wings fully cooked. (Add abit more water if sauce dries up)
6. Dish up and ready to serve with steamed rice.
