Seaweed Tofu in Garlic Oyster Sauce. Easy & delicious dish.
Ingredients : 1 tube Egg tofu 1 slice Japanese Nori Seaweed Oil for frying Corn flour for coating Sesame seeds for garnishing Spring onions for garnishing
Sauce: 1 clove Garlic (Finely minced) 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce 1 tbsp Light Soy sauce 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp Cooking Oil 1 tsp Sesame Oil 40ml water
Step by step: 1. Cut nori seaweed to tofu length. Wrap egg tofu with nori seaweed. Sealed with abit water at the end. 2. Cut into round slice with a sharp knife. 3. Coat tofu with corn flour on all sides. Either you drop them straightaway to hot oil or dust the plate with some corn flour. Otherwise, the tofu will stick to the plate and you will need to re-coat the bottom side again. 4. Deep fry in cooking oil till golden. Set aside.
5. Heat up pan with cooking oil & sesame oil. Saute minced garlic till golden. 6. Pour in water, oyster sauce, light soy sauce and sugar. Stir to combine. 7. Add in seaweed tofu and simmer till sauce thickens. Flips the tofu a few times to let it absorb the flavour. 8. Dish up and garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions. 9. Ready to serve.
