Simple Coconut Milk Agar-Agar with Basil Seeds

Dessert time again.. Love the sweet pink hues..

Ingredients: (makes a 8 in 1 round jelly mould)

5g Agar-Agar Powder (I'm using red color type)

65g Sugar

100ml Coconut Milk

400ml Water

1 tsp Basil Seed (Biji Selasih)-soaked in water for 5 mins

Step by Step:

1. In a pot, combine all the ingredients (water, agar-agar powder, sugar) together. Stir to mix evenly.

2. Turn on the heat. Medium heat will do.

3. Keep stirring until mixture boils. At this point of time, sugar should have melted.

4. Add in coconut milk and bring to a boil again.

5. Scoop & scatter soaked basil seeds into jelly mould.

6. Turn off heat & let it cools down for about 5 mins before pouring into jelly mould. Use a toothpick to poke away floating bubbles for a smooth surface top.

7. Let it cool down to room temperature before transferring to the fridge.

8. Keep in the fridge to chill till agar-agar fully set. At least for 3-4 hours.

9. Serve chilled & enjoy.
