Queen's Xense Casserole Marble Coated Non-Stick Anodised Coating is not only good for cooking on stove top. Do you know that you can put it in the oven as well? Making your own pizza is not only cheaper, it's also healthier. We can choose to put in our favourite choice of toppings. We can even make it half-half flavour. Most importantly I can get to put in a very generous amount of toppings. That the fun part of making your own pizza. The hardest part in pizza making is the crust. I love it to be thin & crispy.
Sharing the recipe for a vegetarian pizza - Fungi Mushroom Pizza.
Ingredients :
For Crust : (makes 2 pcs)
170g Bread Flour
100ml Warm Water
1 tsp Instant Yeast
2 tsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
Some cooking oil to oil the pan
Toppings: (qtty for 2 pcs pizza)
70g White Button Mushroom - thinly sliced
2 small ripen Tomatoes - seed removed & diced
6 tsp Tomato Puree
3 tbsp ripen pineapples (you can use canned or fresh ones)
6 pcs Sweet Basil Leaves - chopped
1 small pkt Mozarella Cheese Toppings
1/2 pkt Enoki Mushrooms
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1/2 tsp Salt
Step by Step to make dough for crust.
1. Mix instant yeast in a glass of warm water. Let it aside for about 15 mins until bubbles form. (Some might see a lot bubbles but some might not see any, depending how active is the yeast)
2. Mix bread flour, sugar & salt together in a large bowl.
3. Pour in yeast mixture into the flour bit by bit.
4. Give a good knead to the dough for about 7-10 mins. The dough should be slighly sticky but when you touch it, it doesn't stick to your hands and won't stick to the bowl as well.
5. If you still feel sticky, slowly add in more flour & keep kneading.
6. Lightly grease the bowl & keep dough by covering with plastic wrap & let it prove for 1-2 hours. It should double it's size by then.
7. After that, the dough is ready to make the pizza crust.
Step by Step to make pizza.
1. Preheat oven at 200C.
2. Lightly oil the pan base with a brush.
3. Use half portion of the dough & spread the dough out into the Queen’s Xense Casserole.
4. Using a teaspoon, spread the tomato puree on the surface of the dough.
5. Lightly sprinkle some black pepper & salt followed by diced tomatoes, pineapples, enoki mushrooms & button mushrooms all over the pizza.
6. Finally top with mozzarella cheese.
7. Chopped basil can be sprinkle on top of the cheese.
* This is optional : either put before baking or put it after baking depends on your liking.
8. Put the pizza in the pre-heated oven & bake for 15 mins until crust is crispy & cheese is melted.
9. Ready to serve.
The other half portion of the dough, I keep it in the fridge for dinner later of the day. Just cover with a plastic wrap. During this time, the dough will still rise abit.
When dinner time made another pizza with more cheese !!! Sweet basil added after pizza came out from the oven..
Look at the thin crispy crust... Deliciously finger licking good.
