Salted Caramel Popcorn


Popcorn for mid night movie snack at home? Some sweet treats for your kids? Planning for a Birthday Party time ?

There are many method for popping corn from either normal kitchen pan/pot, microwave to large scale popcorn machines. Usually is the sweet type. Nowadays even more flavours available such as cheese, seaweed, curry, chocolate, salted caramel, etc. Now instead of having your freshly hot popped popcorn during your movie time at cinema, you could also easily make them at home using Queen's Xense Double Pan.

Ingredients: (serves 2)

100g Corn Kernel

2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil Salted Caramel Sauce: 6 tablespoons Honey

100g Salted Butter 70g Castor Sugar 1/2 teaspoons Salt

Step by Step:

1. Line a tray/bowl with parchment papers & set aside. 2. Heat oil in double pan over medium heat. Add 2 - 3 corn kernels to test the heat. (Oil is hot enough when corn turns slowly in a circle) 3. Add remaining corn, cover and lock the pan. Shake pan gently and you will hear corn starts popping inside. 4. Keep shaking the pan until corn stops popping. Remove from heat. Transfer to a bowl and discard un-popped corn. Becareful, it's hot. 5. To make Salted Caramel Sauce: Put in honey, sugar, salt and butter in the pan. Stir and cook over very low heat until sugar dissolved.

6. Keep stirring the mixture until it turn to a nice amber colour (light golden colour). 7. Pour popcorn over caramel sauce and stir quickly to combine. Remove from pan & rest salted caramel popcorn in prepared lined tray to cool completely. 8. Break into pieces and served or stored in air-tight containers.

Tips : To break salted caramel popcorn easily, put them in a container, cover it & shake it. It will easily break into pieces.
