Tumeric Squid (Sotong Masak Kunyit)

Love this dish so much. Simple to cook. Perfect to go with rice.


Ingredients : (serves 2)

3pcs Squid (140g)

9pcs French beans (45g)

5cm Carrot (25g)

1 pc Small Onion

1 clove Garlic - crushed

3 pcs Kaffir Lime Leaves (teared)

1 tbsp Cooking Oil

1 tbsp Oyster Sauce

2 tbsp Water


Marinade:

1/4 tsp Tumeric Powder

1/8 tsp Salt

Dash of White Pepper


Step by Step:

1. Clean squid & cut into rings.

2. Marinate squid with tumeric powder, salt and white pepper for about 15 mins.

3. Meanwhile, cut french beans and carrot lengthwise. Cut onion into slices.



4. Heat up oil in wok.

5. Saute onion till fragrant.

6. Add in carrot and french beans. Toss for about 1 min +.

7. Add in marinated squid and kaffir lime leaves. Toss till combine and squids puff up. About 1 min.



8. Then add in oyster sauce and 2 tbsp water. Give a quick stir to mix evenly. Let it cook for about 2 mins.

* do not overcook squid or else it will become rubbery.

9. Dish up and serve with steamed rice.
