Seaweed Shrimp Patties

Sharing a quick & easy dish, delicious too. Definitely a favorite for prawn lovers out there. Great as party finger food for kids as well.

I'm using those ready made pre-packed frozen prawn paste. This type were usually ready to use and to be squeeze directly into steamboat. It comes with a combination of shrimp paste and some shrimp chunks in it. These are hassle free as they has been chopped and blended into paste and added with necessary seasoning for taste.

Ingredients :

150g Shrimp Paste

25g Sweet Corn (coarsely chopped)

18g Carrot (diced)

3-4pcs French beans (diced)

Nori Seaweed

Oil for frying

Step by step :

1. Add sweet corn, carrot and french beans into shrimp paste. Mix till well combine.

2. Cut nori seaweed into rectangle about 6 x 4 cm.

3. Spread prawn paste on nori seaweed. Not too thick, otherwise it will be difficult to cook in the center. Try to flatten the surface abit so that it cooks evenly. (Mine was actually a bit rough surfaces & slightly thick. That's explained the burning bits due to longer pan frying time).

**Maybe cutting the bigger shrimp chunks into smaller pieces will help for a smoother surface.

4. Heat up abit oil in pan using medium heat. Once the pan is hot, carefully put in patties with seaweed side first. Then flip and pan fried till golden brown on the other sides.

5. Dish up and serve with mayo or chilli sauce dippings.

Happy cooking.
