Simple 1 piece waffle recipe, perfect for a quick breakfast or snack fix. Just double up or triple up if you need to make more pieces.
This recipe was shared by a friend of mine, thanks to Nicole Chow. The texture was light and airy. Just like eating kuih bahulu.
Ingredients : (makes 1 piece)
1 1/2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
1 tbsp Corn starch
1 Egg Yolk
2 tbsp Milk
Pinch of Baking Soda
Pinch of Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt
(B)
1 Egg White
2 tsp Castor Sugar
Step by step :
1. Mix (A) with a whisk till well combined & no lumps. Set aside.
2. Mix (B) together with a hand mixer till reach hard peak.
3. Now with a spatula, pour egg white meringue (B) into (A). Fold till evenly mix but do not overmix.
4. Turn on waffle maker. Oil the waffle pan on both sides with some oil/melted butter. Wait for the light indicator to show its ready & heated.
5. Pour all the mixture into the waffle maker and cover.
6. Let it cook inside for about 5 mins. Open to check on doneness. If you prefer darker crumbs, add few minutes more.
