Hawthorn Apple Tea


This tea is just wonderfully refreshing especially drink it chilled, and has a unique tangy fruit flavor that goes great with any meal. Taste very similar to boiled sugar cane drink.

Hawthorn has been used for centuries. Loaded with anti-oxidants, aids digestion, lowers cholesterol, eases intestinal movement, improves appetite, lowers blood pressure. Warm in nature with a slightly sour taste.

[CAUTION] It's not suitable for pregnant & breastfeeding women and those with weak digestive system ie gastric. Hawthorn administration is not intended for children.


Ingredients: (yields about 4 cups)

15g Dried hawthorn slices

2 Red apples

4 pcs Red dates big size (pitted)

1 Litre Water

30g rock sugar, or to taste


Step by step :

1. Rinse dried hawthorns slices for a few times. Soak them with some water for about 10 minutes. Discard water and briefly rinse them again under running water.


2. Cut apples, remove skin, core them and cut into wedges.


3. Put hawthorns, apples and red dates in a pot with water. Bring them to a boil. Reduce heat, then simmer for about 30 minutes till flavors all infused into the tea.


4. Add rock sugar and simmer a few more minutes until fully dissolved.

5. You’ll see that the tea has taken on a lovely deep amber color:


6. Serve hot, cooled, or chilled.
