Rendang Chicken Puffs Pastry

Yummy and delicious buttery flaky puffs matches perfectly with rendang minced meat. Great for breakfast or afternoon snacks enjoyed with your favorite hot coffee.

Ingredients:

Frozen Puff Pastry

1 Whole Egg (beaten)

Minced chicken meat

Rendang paste (readymade)

1 tsp Black sesame seeds

**Garnish (onions, kaffir lime leaves, mint leaves, red chilli)


Method:

1. Cook minced meat with ready-made rendang paste. (Optional) You can add kerisik, coconut milk you like how you normally cook your rendang. Just make sure this is drier version, don't make it too wet with alot sauce. Follow the instructions on the rendang paste packaging. Set aside to slightly cool down.

2. Place frozen puff pastry on baking tray. Set aside to thaw it until soften (soft enough to bend/ fold without breaking)

3. Scoop rendang minced meat onto semi-thaw pastry and place it in the middle of the pastry. Fold up the 2 sides corner and press them together lightly. (When they baking in oven, they will separates and open up, creating a bowl-shaped like pastry.

4. Brush with beaten egg on all sides and edges. Sprinkles some black sesame seeds.

5. Bake them in preheated oven at 180C for 15 mins or until golden.

6. Garnish with onions, kaffir lime leaves, mint leaves and red chilli.
