Apple & Pear Sweet Soup with Red Dates

Counter the hazy weather with this easy-to-cook sweet soup.

The haze is really bad this time. Apart from staying indoors with closed doors and windows, try this sweet soup/drink to soothe the lungs & throat. Good for kids & adults.

Chinese Pear is good for moisturizing the lungs. Red dates contain loads of vitamins. It is very refreshing to serve this sweet soup chilled and it quenches thirst, especially in our hazy and dry weather.

Ingredients : (serves 2-3)

1 Red Apple

1 Pear

5 big Red Dates (pitted)

1 tbsp Wolfberries (Goji)

20g Cane Rock Sugar / Brown Sugar

1L Water

Step by Step :

1. Remove skin and core/seed for apple and pear. Cut into 8 wedges each.

Warning : Must remove the apple seed. Apple seed is poisonous to be consume especially for small kids.

2. Rinse red dates and wolfberries.

3. Add apple, pear, and red dates in a pot of water. Bring to a boil.

4. Reduce heat & let it simmer for 30 mins.

5. Finally add in cane rock sugar and wolfberries. Boil for another 5 mins till sugar melts.

6. Ready to serve warm or chilled.
