Steamed Tomato Rice with Mushroom & Ham


Want to cook a healthy simple & quick rice dish for lunch or dinner. Easy & fast preparations. Everybody can definitely be able to make this with zero failure. Suitable for adults & kids.

Ingredients : (serves 2)

1 ripe tomato (remove the stem & cut slightly on the top so that tomato will be easier to cook)

2 portion of rice

2 dried shitake mushroom, diced

1 slice ham, sliced (can be chicken ham or pork ham)

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cooking oil

Water for cooking rice

Water to steam rice

Step by step :

1. Wash rice as usual & add water into it. Use a bigger plate so that when rice is cooked, it won't overflow.

2. Add in salt & cooking oil & mix well.

3. Arrange diced mushroom & sliced ham on top of rice.

4. Finally put tomato in the center.

5. Put plate of tomato rice on the steamer rack & steam for 20 minutes on medium heat. After that do not immediately open the cover. Let in rest in the steamer for another 10 minutes.

6. RIce should be cooked by now. Take out & use a fork to gently mashed the tomato & mix together with the rice.

6. Ready to be serve.

Tips : You can always use other ingredients to give more varieties such as mix vegetables like corn, diced carrot, green peas, chinese sausage, luncheon meat, etc.
